Ulysses S. Grant Bobblehead

Product Description

Ulysses S. Grant was commanding general of the Federal Union armies in 1864 and became the 18th President of the United States in 1869, serving two terms in office. A lot of controversy surrounds his presidency including allegations of corruption, ineptitude and indecisiveness during the Panic of 1873. His presidency was plagued with scandals such as Black Friday, a gold speculation financial crisis in 1869, the Whiskey Ring of 1875 in which over $3,000,000 in taxes were stolen from the federal government with the aid of high government officials, and the Credit Mobilier of America scandal that ruined the political career of his first vice president, Schuyler Colfax.
